The College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts along with the Confederation Bridge present Great Scot! — an original stage production debuting this summer. Exciting, vibrant and highly memorable — it’s a stage show that celebrates dynamic Scottish heroes, warriors, nobility and scholars through music, dance and song.
Characters rooted in dramatic Scottish history are brought to life by using pipes and drums, dancers and singers, fiddlers and storytellers.
Multiple Gemini and Canadian Screen Award winner Shelagh O’Brien brings a whimsical but theatrical twist to the College’s showcase production, in the brand new custom-designed Celtic Performing Arts Centre.
Pipers are: Calum Brydon, Danielle Chiarotto, Kylie MacHattie and James MacHattie. Drummers are: Chris Coleman, Austin Trenholm, Dalton McCully and John Donald MacLean. Highland dancers are: Daniel Carr, Shelby Lynne Dalziel, Roshandra Stetson, Abbey Mage and Maggie Burns. Step dancers are: Samantha MacKay, Eithne Brydon, Jacqueline Moase, Alizée Cyr-Comeault, Charlie MacLaren and Emily Albert.
Acting in the production are Brad Simkulet, Eric Pidgeon and Milos Simkulet. Houseband is: Peter Gallant (Musical Director), guitars, bass, keyboard, vocals; Christine Gallant, keyboard, harp, low whistle, vocals; Max Gallant, drums, percussion; and Gilbert Arsenault, fiddle.
Great Scot! opens July 11 and runs all summer. To purchase tickets visit www.collegeofpiping.com or call 1-877-BAG-PIPES.
