Back by popular demand, the Victoria Park Sunset Series will take place at the Victoria Park Cultural Pavilion from August 29 to September 1. This free event will feature four nights of movies and music with the picturesque Victoria Park as the backdrop.

“The Victoria Park Sunset Series was a big hit last year with many families and visitors out enjoying the park and spending time together at the Cultural Pavilion,” said Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee. “We’re excited to be offering the series again. It’s the perfect way to end the summer and enjoy the last weekend before school starts. We encourage everyone to come join us.”

The Victoria Park Sunset Series will kick off on Wednesday, August 29 with an outdoor screening of the romantic teen comedy-drama, “Love, Simon” (Rated PG-13), co-hosted by PEERS Alliance. On Thursday, August 30, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” (Rated PG-13) will play on the outdoor screen. On Friday, August 31, Sean Casey, MP for Charlottetown will co-host a screening of Disney/Pixar’s, “Coco” (Rated PG), a vibrant tale of fun, family, and adventure. All movies will begin at 8:30 pm. Blankets and folding chairs are encouraged. A blankets-only area will be identified on-site to ensure optimal viewing for all. Concessions will be available for sale on-site (cash only).

“I am pleased to be working with the City of Charlottetown to offer the unique opportunity to enjoy a film underneath the stars,” said Sean Casey, Member of Parliament for Charlottetown. “The Academy Award winning film, Coco, is enjoyable for all ages and is fun for the whole family. I hope to see you there.”

“PEERS Alliance is thrilled to be partnering with the City of Charlottetown to bring the movie ‘Love, Simon’ to the Victoria Park Sunset Series,” said Cybelle Rieber, PEERS Alliance Executive Director. “A heartwarming story of teen romance from a rarely seen perspective of a young gay man. Love, Simon is a funny and heartbreaking, coming-of-age and coming out tale that many both outside and within the LGBTQ2+ community will see themselves in. We hope to see a huge crowd out to watch this awesome new movie!”

The fun continues on Saturday, September 1 with Coastal Vibes 2.0, an evening of music with a talented line-up of musicians at the cultural pavilion. Bring your chairs or blankets and dance moves to enjoy the free open air concert to cap off the Victoria Park Sunset Series. The detailed schedule for Coastal Vibes 2.0 will be released within the next two weeks.
