Join soprano Shannon Scales and pianist Andrea Ellis at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Charlottetown, as they present a recital that reflects on love, heartache, dreams and the revered moon above. 

This afternoon of classical music will include works by Whitacre, Quilter, Moore, Donaudy, Domine and more.

Shannon Scales studied vocal performance at the University of Prince Edward Island under the direction of Sung Ha Shin Bouey, receiving her Bachelor of Music in 2010. Following her post-secondary education, Shannon moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she studied voice under Soprano, Lucy Hayes Davis and performed with the Halifax Camerata Singers, Symphony Nova Scotia Chorus, Opera Nova Scotia and Xara Choral Theatre. Since returning, Shannon has become a member of Luminos Ensemble and PEI’s women’s ensemble, Sirens. As a soloist, Shannon has been featured in works by Handel, Jenkins, Whitacre, Dvorak, Rossini and more.

Andrea is a pianist, mezzo-soprano, and private music instructor based out of Charlottetown. A Registered Music Teacher (RMT), she is a certified piano teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Along with managing a private studio, she is a founding member of Sirens, PEI’s women’s ensemble, and is Director of Music at St. Andrew’s United Church in Vernon Bridge. Andrea is collaborative pianist with several Island choirs including the Indian River Festival Chorus, the Amabilè Singers, and Harmonia Girls Choir; as well, she performs as a freelance collaborative pianist working regularly with music students at UPEI. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Music (piano) from UPEI and was a two-time member of the National Youth Choir of Canada.
