The Prince Edward Island International Shellfish Festival, Canada’s largest festival in honour of shellfish, will celebrate 23 years as the event returns to downtown Charlottetown from September 13 to 16, 2018. The Festival showcases the Island’s mussels, oysters, and lobster. Chefs and shuckers display their culinary skills and engage with audiences.
The schedule of events includes culinary competitions, live cooking demos, plenty of shellfish feasting, and kitchen parties with some of Canadian party bands. Celebrity chefs Lynn Crawford and Michael Smith of Food Network Canada will host.
The always sold-out evening of the Feast & Frolic Signature Event hosted by Chef Lynn, and the Garland Canada Chef Challenge are event highlights for sure; this year Chef Michael Smith will host an all new Junior Chef Challenge.
The Festival’s reputation for throwing unforgettable kitchen parties is sure to remain intact, with fan favourites Signal Hill performing on September 14, and Big Bad Party Band performing on September 15. The high-octane energy and dance-inducing music of these bands will no doubt keep festival-goers singing along and dancing late into the nights.
