With Paul Grambo and Leo Marchildon

Choral director Paul Grambo, who teaches and performs out of London, Ontario, will lead two workshops for community and church choir members across PEI on September 21 to 22, accompanied by performer, composer and conductor Leo Marchildon. Repertoire ranging from sacred, folk, Celtic and pop will be used to demonstrate varied approaches to ensemble singing. The workshops take place in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cornwall on September 21 from 7 to 9 pm and September 22 from 9 to 11:30 am.

Paul’s credits include eight seasons with the Grammy and JUNO nominated Elora Singers. He is music director for The Broadway Singers, and assistant music director at St. James’ Westminster Anglican Church. He also works with the Canadian Celtic Choir, the Mississauga Children’s Choir, the Karen Schuessler Singers and Pride Men’s Chorus London.

Leo is music director-organist for St. Dunstan’s Basilica, accompanist for the UPEI Choral Ensemble and conductor of the PEI Pops! Orchestra.

A public concert will follow on September 22 at 7 pm, with performances by the workshop choir and Cape Breton’s Ambassador Choir Cora Cantabile, directed and accompanied by Jim McNeil. They say that they take special pride in showcasing songwriters, arrangers and singers from their home island. Proceeds support the Knights of Columbus community charities.
