Luminos Ensemble: Shoulda Been Choral

St. Paul's Anglican Church

Sunday, September 30, 2018, 02:30pm

PEI’s professional chamber choir, Luminos Ensemble, will perform a concert titled “Shoulda Been Choral” on September 30 at 2:30 pm, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 101 Prince St., Charlottetown.

Shoulda Been Choral is an eclectic program of works that were not originally composed for voices, but that perhaps should have been. Program highlights include Samuel Barber’s Agnus Dei (based on his Adagio for Strings,) Edward Elgar’s Lux Aeterna (based on his Nimrod Variations), Mozart’s Overture from The Marriage of Figaro, Vince Guaraldi’s famous Linus & Lucy of Peanuts fame, as well as music by Bach, Stevie Wonder, Tchaikovsky, ABBA, Schubert, and more, all reimagined for unaccompanied voices.

Formed in 2017 by Artistic Director Dr. Margot Rejskind, Luminos Ensemble is made up of a who’s who of PEI’s vibrant classical scene. Luminos Ensemble strives to redefine the choral experience for audiences and singers alike by presenting innovative and thoughtful programs, performed in a manner that engages audiences.
