Video Phase: Lumens

Saturday, October 27, 2018, 07:30pm

Discover STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) with Harbourfront Theatre and STEAM PEI this October in a special pay-what-you-will event featuring Video Phase: Lumens.

On October 27, Harbourfront invites the community to join them for the multi-media show Video Phase: Lumens. Artistic duo Video Phase is the result of the collaboration between two musicians-creators, Julien-Robert and Julien Compagne. Their goal was to develop a new kind of art that equally combines music, video, and technology.

Lumens, the second original creation of the group, explores the link between virtual and reality by creating a 3D multi-screen environment projected in front of and around the audience. The two creators give life to music and image in real time, like an interactive musical video game. It’s an immersive multimedia performance featuring a variety of musical instruments/materials like drum pads, electronic instruments, laser frames, motion capture by Kinect, and even water.

Video Phase: Lumens comes to the Summerside theatre October 27 with STEAM PEI’s hands-on discovery display open to the public from 6:30 to 7:30 pm followed by Video Phase’s multi-sensory performance from 7:30 to 8:45 pm. The theatre is offering the evening as a pay-what-you-will event which means people can book tickets for no upfront fee and then decide what they will pay for their tickets after the show.
